RYAN Calvey ('Ole Roy)

Ryan has spent more than a lifetime in the construction industry starting out on his millwork career nearly 25 years ago. As a young man in New Jersey he began his journey as a carpenter learning the ways of custom cabinetry from building boxes all the way to installing the last piece of crown molding in a custom kitchen. He came from an era in time when carpenters handled all aspects of millwork. Over the years he elevated his game to taking on advanced commercial trim jobs for hotels, clubhouses, and other high end millwork projects. Eventually there came a time where Ryan hung up his tool belt to become a Superintendent.
Throughout this span he was tasked with running multi-million dollar custom home builds along with being the lead super on many high dollar commercial hotel renovation projects. Along the way Ryan was able to gain vast knowledge to the business side of construction while also learning the ins and outs of how buildings work with their MEP's. His time spent as a superintendent brought him all over the United States giving him countless memories to look back on.
As they say, "The end of one road is simply the beginning of another." In this instance the road of being a lead super came to an end once Chris graduated from college in 2022, and thus Calvey Carpentry was formed. Ryan decided it was time to put the tools back on and do what was best for his and his family's future.
After relocating to the St. Pete / Tampa area in the Summer of 2023 the Calvey Carpentry has been slowly growing roots in the area and proudly making a name for themselves. In his spare time Ryan tends to prioritize his focus on living a healthy lifestyle and rides his Road Glide.

Chris Calvey (Toph)

Chris started out his path in the construction world in a somewhat unconventional way compared to most people. During his lengthy time at Florida State University pursing a Degree in Mechanical Engineering he learned a lot of information. To of many people's surprise, being a mechanical engineer for a career choice was something Chris wanted little to do with. Spending countless hours behind a desk sending emails was comparable to a death sentence, especially at a capped salary. He saw his future played out in front of him and decided to take the road less traveled.
During the college years is when his interest in construction began to grow. It was at this time when 'Ole Roy was a lead superintendent for a commercial construction company. Whenever there was time off from school Chris would insert himself onto whatever job site his father was at. Originally starting out as a simple laborer running trash and organizing. Eventually working his way up to becoming forklift certified and gaining the role of Assistant-Superintendent. It was in his last semester of college when Chris mentioned wanting to start a carpentry business with his dad, he thought the reward outweighed the risk.
It was also noticed that there is an extreme lack of detail oriented craftsmen left in this world and Roy is indeed one of the remaining few. Computers won't be able to set your cabinets level and hang your doors plumb when some hack frames your walls. And since the education system decided woodshop is "too dangerous" for kids (yet setting them tens of thousands of dollars in debt for a nonsense piece off paper isn't...) It is important to gain the tricks of the trade from a master himself, all the while teaching the old dog new tricks.
Chris' main focus these days is oriented towards spending time with close ones, growing the business, and providing a service unlike any other. In his spare time he enjoys working out, modifying his trucks, riding his motorcycle, and above all else that man can cook. Working hard and playing harder is what keeps him going. FAWIU
